Couponing for Beginners

Hello All!

So as I said in my previous post, I am really trying hard to get into this "Couponing" craze.

I am finding it rather difficult because of a few reasons.

1) I don't really care to spend money on things that I KNOW Mr. Dogtags and I wont use. For example, just because itch cream is on sale and after the coupon it comes out to be $0.30, doesn't mean I necessarily want to buy that. I see so many women buy outrageous numbers of things that just ends up sitting on their shelves at home.

2) I haven't yet been able to convince myself that waking up before dawn to try to rush to buy a bunch of papers is worth it. I enjoy my sleep and waking up before 6am to fight the local women for the papers doesn't sound like fun to me. (and trust me, in my area the local ladies CLEAN OUT the papers and quickly)

3) Just from listening to some of the horror stories these ladies share about evil cashiers ans store managers making their shopping trips hell, and customers snickering when they see someone with a binder full of coupons.

In the end though, all of these things can be overcome with smart shopping and a little bit of organization.

I am learning slowly and I would like to share a few places for you to visit if you are looking to get involved with couponing too.

Also, if you LOVE a good deal (who doesnt?) Check out these legitimate websites that offer everyday items on the cheap:

(my personal favorite!)

I hope you check out some of these great sites.
They have helped me get started  and I know they can help you too!

I've Been Busy!

Since the holidays have toned down a bit I've been trying to get back into the swing of things.

First things first, I've got myself some business cards to hand out
at the local craft fairs and when people ask about my handbags.

I also have been making and selling more gorgeous handbags.
I am going to start making paracord bracelets as well.

My old Dell Mini netbook that I have had for several years finally gave out, so I was excited to go out last night and get myself a new laptop. I went with the full size this time as it will be much easier to enjoy doing graphic design on a larger screen. I LOVE IT! Now Mr. Dogtags and I match. :)

I've recently started couponing, or trying to at least.

For some reason I just can't quite catch on...to help myself out I will be attending a Coupon 101 class here on post sometime soon. I heard the woman running the class is amazing so hopefully she can help.

I also read this article from the Army Times over the weekend about the Army making even more cuts over the next few years. While on one hand I am sad that so many people will lose their jobs, I can't help but also feel like it is about time. No, I don't want thousands to lose their jobs but I see so many soldiers out there who do anything and everything to defy the rules and get into trouble. Honestly I am glad that they will finally be weeding out the bad ones. Hopefully this will open up some space for the good guys out there to move up and earn more promotions and just overall have a better military experience.

Have you read the article? What's your thoughts on the subject?
