Waldo Canyon Fire Coverage

As many of you have probably heard through national news coverage, there is a huge wild fire in Colorado Springs, and it is out of control.

The fire started 5 days ago, and in that short time has burned over 6,500 acres and 40,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.

The Air Force Academy has been evacuated. Those evacuees are now seeking refuge here on Fort Carson. My friends and I will be spending our time passing out care packages to evacuees.

For the first time since the fire started, it has reached homes and businesses and many people are now without a home or a job.

At this point, it is believed that NO people have been killed or injured in this fire.

Please keep Colorado in your prayers. This fire is only 5% contained at this point. It is estimated that this fire will not be fully contained for another 3 weeks, I can't imagine how much damage it will cause by then.

Again, please pray for us.
