Milspouse Friday Fill in!

1. It’s now June (woot!)… what plans do you have for the summer?Well, Chris graduates from BCT within the next two weeks so I will soon be traveling to SC to see him. :) After that, he is going to AIT for 3 months and I will return home to start packing up our lives to get ready for our first PCS!

2. What is your favorite summer memory as a kid?
Going to the beach with my family. I also used to go to theme parks and water parks all summer.

3. If wild animals could be made pets without fear of them ever being dangerous, what kind of exotic animal would you want as a pet?
A giraffe! :) They are so goofy and cute.

4. Is there anything about deployments that you do like?
Well, we haven't been through a deployment yet, but we are apart right now and will be for many more months. I have found in this time apart that we appreciate each other even more and phone calls and letters are so special. I have found a strength within myself that I did not know was there...that is definitely one of the up sides of being apart.

5. I’m starting to run out of questions again… so please give me a question you’d like to see (off-the-wall will most likely make it because we seem to have used a lot of the “traditional” ones).
Whats your favorite brew of coffee? Or do you prefer tea?

Getting Back to Routine

How was everyone's Memorial Day weekend?

 Mine was fantastic!

First of all, I got a completely unexpected phone call from my husband on Friday. When my phone rang and I saw the number, I panicked just a little. He has never called me on a Friday and I was worried that he was calling to tell me he was hurt or something. Luckily, he got a free moment and said he just really wanted to hear my voice. I love him so much!

Then, on Saturday I woke up and for the first time since I got out of the hospital, I felt great and well rested.

Sunday, I went on a 4 hour drive to get my teenage sister. She is staying with me for the summer and will be going with me to SC! :)

(this is my sister and me holding hands right after my wedding ceremony)

Very exciting. I am super excited that she is with me now. She's my partner in crime!*

A few of you have probably done a double take looking at the picture.
Before I get asked any of the usual questions, let me say that:
1. No- you don't need glasses.
2. YES- we are really sisters. We have the same father.

Memorial day was very special to both of us, as my husband is now serving, and her mother is in the Army as well.

Monday we went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
It was pretty good. AND, on Monday night I got ANOTHER phone call. It was short but amazing. He had to confirm a few details for me so I could finalize my travel plans.

We also took advantage of the memorial day sales and indulged in a little retail therapy.

Today, we went to the gym together. It was my first time since getting out of the hospital. It felt great to get back into my routine!

less than 2 weeks until we depart for SC!

We have so much to do and so little time!

Looking forward to all of it! Chaos and all!

*Disclaimer:* the term "partner in crime" is just a figure of speech. We in no way take part in any criminal activity. :-)
