Outfit Planning

So, I am really looking forward to my trip next month to go see my husband graduate from BCT. I have been trying to decide on what I am going to wear!

So far I have purchased this dress:

Cute right?

I was thinking about putting a simple white bolero over it for modesty...like this:

(I created this in photoshop so its not perfect)

What do you think?

I know that the Carolina weather can be very humid.

I haven't decided what shoes to pair with this dress yet. White wedges? Fancy sandals?

I will keep you posted as I make further decisions...and of course, your input is very encouraged!

Travel Planning Headache!

If you know me personally, you know how much I LOVE to travel. I seriously love it.

I am making my travel plans to go see my husband graduate from basic. I have already scheduled my hotel and plane...but I am discovering that renting a car if you are under 25 yrs old is a pain in the ass.

Sure, there are several companies out there that with a minimum age of 21 or older. In fact, MOST of them do have that age requirement. However, even if you are above the age requirement of 21, if you are under 25 there are all kinds of hoops to jump through.

According to most companies, if you are under 25 you have to have a MAJOR credit card. No, not a debit card, a credit card. Trust me- I checked.

So, I'm 22 yrs old and have responsibly made it a priority to stay away from credit card debt. Too many of my friends are up to their eyes in debt already and I just don't like that. So, with that being said...it is now being detrimental to my travel plans.

Each rental car company has its own policies,

For example, I did find one company that would allow me to rent a car being 22 yrs old AND use a DEBIT card, however they wanted to put a $500 hold on my card for "possible unexpected extra fees" which in reality translates to: "As a young driver you are too much of a liability and we will charge you heavily to cover anything you might F up." More than one company I checked wanted to put an outrageous hold/deposit if using a debit card. Moving on...

Another company would allow me to rent with my debit card, but when I went to schedule the rental, they wanted to charge me over $1100.00 to rent the car. That is OUTRAGEOUS compared to every other company, where for the same number of days I can rent a car for $300-$400. Thats a big difference.

Another company told me that they would let me rent with my debit card, but that when I arrived to the airport and I walked up to the counter to get the car, they would run a credit check on me...and if the credit check came back below their standards, I would be stuck there with no rental.I don't feel comfortable taking that chance. I don't have bad credit. In fact, I don't have one single bad mark on my credit. HOWEVER, I'm 22 so I don't have A LOT of credit. I'm still working on getting established. Their solution? "Go to your local branch and schedule a 1 day rental, and have them run the credit check... then you will know if you are renter eligible." Ehhh, no thanks.

One company told me FLAT OUT that if you are below 25- debit cards were not accepted. Period. No outrageous deposit or hold or a credit check. Plain and simple if you were under 25 your options were either provide a major credit card, or you don't get a car.

So, when faced with this dilemma I took the easiest solution.

I got a credit card.

Problem Solved.

Army Wives: Season 5 Ep. 9

**SPOILER ALERT**

So, last night's episode of Army Wives opens with Claudia Joy Confronting Grant Chandler about the kiss he planted on her unexpectedly. Claudia Joy makes it very clear to him that he was far out of line and she is now considering leaving the law firm. He assures her that too much champagne was involved and he acted out in the heat of the moment and he promises to never make such a mistake again. After confiding with Denise on the subject, Claudia Joy decides it would be best to not tell Michael about the kiss.

Claudia Joy gets a wonderful phone call that all the troops deployed are getting re-deployment orders and are coming home! While this is fantastic news, each wife has their own thoughts about the troops returning home.

For Denise, the homecoming is bitter sweet because since the recent death of her son Jeremy, she no longer has a soldier to welcome home. She attends the homecoming on the tarmac anyway, and ends up meeting Jeremy's 2 best friends, which brings her some joy.

All the while, Joan and Roland have made the decision to expand their family. Going the traditional route would be too risky with the complications from Joan's last pregnancy, so they decide that adoption would be the best choice. They meet some adversity because of Joan being military, and you see their journey trying to find a child to add to their family.

For Roxy, this surprise homecoming really is bad timing. Up to this point she has been unable to tell Trevor that Witt (Finn's dad) is her contractor for the new truck stop she is building...AND that Witt is living right outside the HUMP Bar. Pamela helps Roxy devise a plan to get Trevor into a good mood before breaking the news to him, but it falls through. Trevor is definitely acting depressed and just doesn't seem happy anymore. The next day he realized that he should apologize to Roxy for not being excited to be home...he gets a ride to the HUMP Bar where he meets Witt... As can be expected, he is angry that Witt has been around his wife and boys and punches Witt in the face and screams at Roxy inside the bar.

In the previews for next week's episode, it seems as though the problems just get worse for Trevor and Roxy, with the looming possibility of a divorce! :(

So did YOU watch last night's episode?
