I'm a victim of ERROR 404!

Today, I cannot access my blog...I can only view stats, and make a post.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to share this with anyone that is experiencing the same things as many of the bloggers with custom domains today.

A message from GODADDY to user affected:

"On Friday evening, we began experiencing a significant DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack in two of our data centers. The first wave occurred at approximately 10 p.m. MST, the second wave at 2 a.m. These attacks intended to shut down our network by sending us a very high volume of traffic to handle.

We experience DDoS attacks frequently, and typically defeat them with little or no affect on our customers. This attack, however, was extremely large, peaking at 21 million packets per second. Our network security team followed our methods for stopping these attacks: We isolated the IP addresses of the attackers, prevented them from further clogging the network, and nullified the impact they had on our network and thus, your website."

Some of you are located in the Internet neighbourhood of the "attackers", and are seeing lack of access to the GoDaddy servers.  This does not mean that your blog or your domain is down.  GoDaddy has blocked access to their servers, to your Internet neighbourhood, so they can provide service to the rest of the Internet and to the majority of your readers.  Your blog is down, to you.

I just wanted to let you all know that I wont be very active until this gets fixed and I get full access to my site.

Love you all!

Replace the Blogger "B"! I'll show you how.

Have you ever noticed that blogger logo next to the URL in the bar when you visit someone's blog?

Did you know that you can customize your Favicon? Look at mine...see the little pair of dogtags?

Wanna know how to do it yourself?

I followed a great tutorial, check it out HERE.

A tip* A favicon can be a PNG file too, it doesn't have to be a ICO file.

Hope you like it!

When you are done, tell me what you think!

And if you make one, let me know! I would love to see it!

Murphy's Law rears it's UGLY head.

Well, things around the house are typically uneventful. Boring even...but now that Chris is 1 week away from leaving, it seems that Murphy's Law is rearing its ugly head. Everything that could go wrong, does.

I got a flat tire and had to shell out $400 for 4 new tires.

Chris gets really sick and has to go to the doctor, get blood tests, and meds.
He never gets sick! EVER!

On Tuesday, my computer completely crashed.
I had to shell out $130 to sit on the phone with Dell for 6 hours while a lady overseas with a very thick accent walked me through completely reinstalling my operating system, re-downloading all my drivers, and reinstalling all my software...and couldn't promise me that my hard drive contents like my wedding photos, important documents, etc, would be recovered.
6 HOURS!

Wednesday, nothing happened. I thought hoped the storm had settled.

Thursday, (today) My computer crashed AGAIN.
I called Dell back because it had been less than 36 hours since they "fixed" my computer the first time.
They refused to refund my money, nor would they help me again without charging me again.
I told them to SHOVE IT. And I spent all day fixing it myself. Thank goodness I have a good memory. :)

On top of it all, I am SO SCARED of the possible Government Shutdown. Tomorrow is Chris' last day at work and then he leaves for Basic. I don't have a job yet. I am trying! But if I am not getting paid, and HE isn't getting paid...then our BILLS aren't getting paid.

So at this point, I don't think I can  CAN'T take any more problems.

Praying for smooth sailing from here on out.

Help me feel better, share your Murphy's Law moments with  me!

Protesting Military Funerals?!

You know, I heard that there were people protesting the funeral for Elizabeth Taylor. SERIOUSLY? Why does she deserve that? It really angers me because she is someones daughter, she is someone's mother, and she was someone's wife. She is a human being and deserves a peaceful funeral just like every other normal person on this earth...which leads me to today's blog...

I feel SO SICK when I see or read about people protesting at military funerals.

They claim they "have the right." Well do you know WHY  they "have the right?"

Because our country's FINEST men and women are risking their lives everyday, just so that these idiots can live by the same freedoms written in the Constitution as everyone else. Whats even more sick is that these people are getting their children involved in this! Members of the Westboro Baptist Church have been springing up more and more at military funerals. PEOPLE, these soldiers deserve a peaceful funeral. These soldiers have mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, daughters, and even children who all miss them when they are gone. Those last few minutes of closure are precious and to have people like these idiots protesting is disgrace.

I mean lets use 9/11 as an example. Say for instance any of these protesters had family members in the building when the twin towers were struck....and what if their family members died, and the military did nothing?...would they get mad? HELL YEAH they would get mad. They would want someone to do something about it. They would want the terrorists to pay for what they did.

None of these people understand how to put themselves in other's shoes and they just choose to see what the military is on the surface, and call them "murderers." Instead of seeing what they are really fighting for everyday. It angers me so much...I want to protest THEIR funeral when THEY die. See how their mom, dads, sisters, and brothers like the extreme invasion of privacy. I am not biased because I am an Army wife. I am saying all of this because human beings should not be treated like that!

Our soldiers should be THANKED for everything that they do. They are the real heroes of this country!

What's your feelings on this subject?

Government Shutdown & Action in Libya

OK. So I am not one to usually post about controversial topics such as these, but I really need some feedback on this.

As many know, Congress has passed a temporary extension for federal funding through April 8th. If an agreement is not reached by then, a possible government shutdown will occur. To many, they believe that under the protection of the Food and Forage Act military pay will be unaffected...however, when the government shutdown of 1996 occurred, military pay WAS affected, and later payed back retroactively. Many who remember this 21 day shutdown are scared that this time will be similar except it could possibly last much longer. Another item of discussion is that from what I understand, the budget for the military is decided up to two years in advance. This means that FY2011 pay for the military should be already set aside. Let's hope there is some truth to this.

Some current active duty personnel have been advised to set aside every dollar possible in case of a shutdown. For officers and 20-lifers who make more money this might seem more possible, but for those enlisted low ranking personnel or for those just joining, how realistic is it to expect them to set aside the 3 months pay as an emergency fund? Most are living paycheck to paycheck as it is.

I know that with my recent lay off and my husband just leaving for basic training in 2 weeks, even though I am actively seeking a job it doesn't happen overnight. we rely on the money he makes to pay our bills. If he quits his job to leave for basic training and then he doesn't get paid for several months, we will not make it! So I don't frankly care what party is to blame, thanks to the Government and their irresponsibility, my family may be out on the street!

So let's keep the discussion clean and friendly.

I would REALLY like some others to offer their opinion on this matter.

Also, as a side note: The possible military action in Libya is getting more media attention. What are your thoughts on the situation unfolding?
